Betting on MLB Playoffs
The MLB trade deadline is over and the Toronto Bluejays look like a force to be reckoned with. Today we will take a look at the Bluejays MLB playoffs betting odds and online sportsbook reviews where you can bet on the MLB playoff race.
While betting odds can tell you a lot about which teams are expected to do well for the rest of the season, they don’t always paint the whole picture. Sometimes, teams that may be in danger of falling out of the race remain betting favorites for one reason or another. So, which teams fall into that category during the 2015 MLB season?
The St. Louis Cardinals are one team that comes to mind immediately. While the Cardinals are an excellent team on the field, and are listed at 7/1 to win the World Series, they are facing an off the field scandal which stands to potentially disrupt their year. The Cardinals front office has been accused in a hacking scandal involving the Houston Astros, and the results of that investigation could have wide-ranging effects. It is yet to be seen if their on the field success will be derailed by what has happened behind closed doors.
Another odds maker favorite that may be in trouble is the Kansas City Royals. The Royals took baseball by storm last fall when they made a run to game seven of the World Series, but their starting pitching rotation is questionable in 2015. They are listed at 8/1 by sportsbooks, but most of the other teams at the top of the odds list have far better rotations. The Royals do boast one of the best bullpens in the game, but they have to get the lead in order to take advantage of that strength. A lack of starting pitching, along with an injury to Alex Gordon, could spell trouble in the second half of the year.
